Dr. Matic has completed 16 years of post-secondary education, and currently has over 24 years of clinical experience, enabling him to provide the best care possible to his patients. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario before attending the University of Toronto to earn his medical degree and complete his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency training. Following that, he completed a fellowship in craniomaxillofacial surgery at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland.
Dr. Matic had the unique opportunity to learn from and spend time with world-renowned cosmetic plastic surgeons specializing in facial rejuvenation including facelift, rhinoplasty, and eyelid surgery in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., as part of this fellowship. During this time, he expanded his cosmetic surgery skills, and he now offers his refined techniques and experience to achieve each patient’s desired results. He is often approached by patients seeking secondary surgery and revision surgery for further improvements, Although not his primary focus, he brings a thoughtful and meticulous approach to revision surgeries. In his first three years in London, he also finished a Master of Science in Medical Biophysics at UWO in the field of facial growth and movement using botulinum toxin A (Botox).
Dr. Matic is Professor Emeritus at the University of Western Ontario’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and is currently in private practice. His research has resulted in numerous publications and scientific presentations in North America, Europe, and Asia. Dr. Matic’s current research interests include facial growth, the effects of botulinum toxin on nerve regeneration, and long-term analysis of cleft lip repair and mouth muscle movements.

Dr. Matic has active memberships with the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the AOCMF organization, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He is the past North American Chairperson on the AOCMF International Board. He is Board-certified as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and he is in good standing with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Ontario.
