Liposuction
Say goodbye to stubborn body fat and discover a healthier, more confident you.
What is Liposuction?
Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that reduces localized pockets of persistent fat that are difficult to shed. The surgery breaks up the fat and removes it from the targeted parts of your body, effectively refining your body’s shape.
Liposuction can be performed on most areas, but the most popular are the abdomen, thigh, neck, upper arms and back. The length of a liposuction procedure depends on the number and size of the areas being treated.
While effectively treating body fat distribution, liposuction has minimal scarring and long-term physical and psychological benefits.
During + After your Surgery
Anaesthesia Type
Anaesthesia will depend on the scope of the procedure. If a small area is being treated, it is possible the patient may receive sedation, but most times, a general anaesthetic is administered (patient is asleep).
Duration of Surgery
Dependent on the number and size of areas being treated.
In/Outpatient
Patients go home the same day after some time in the recovery room.
Length of Recovery
The patient will return to work within 2-5 days but should wait 4-6 weeks before any vigorous activities. Compression garments will help to reduce the swelling and are required for up to six weeks following surgery.
Post-Operative Medication
Pain medication may be prescribed and a compression garment must be worn.
Final Results
Expect dramatic improvement after 3-6 months of the procedure. It could take up to a full year to realize the final result.
